January 14, 2026- Day #10

This an exciting day for all of us “Pollywogs”. While Joan and I have traveled to Peru in the past with my sister and brother in law, we have never sailed over the equator. Many of you know that in my four years in the US Navy my sea time was with the US Marine Corp at Camp Lejeune, NC and never on ship. So while this day is totally at sea to get to our next stop, at 10:00 am we had a ceremony on ship for the Pollywogs to give praise to King Neptune, be doused with ice water, and kiss a slimy fish. Also for our friends doing food recovery at St Mark Church, they discussed how they minimize food waste, but do end up feeding the ocean fish some really food leftovers from the buffet. In the afternoon Prof Khalid Sheikhi talked about Blue Zones which some of you know about and Adding Years to your Life and Life to your Years. Of course he talked about the things we need to do like get 7-9 hours of sleep, exercise and use a dry sauna (I am all about that back at The Plaza) and have a good social life. Here are the pictures from the ceremony today.
