Last stop in Mexico is at Ensenada. We are at the northern part of the Baja Peninsula, 78 miles south of San Diego. This is a sporting paradise for surfing, sea kayaking, fishing, and horseback riding. La Bufadora is a marine geyser south of the city that is said to be the largest sea geyser in North America. We did not get to see this, as we were on the Gastronomy and History tour. With Spanish, Russian, and American influences, at least two cantinas claim to be the originator of the fish taco and margarita. Currently the city is known as a cruise ship destination, aerospace center and area to grow wine grapes. As a party city they have a number of festivals each year. Our tour took us to several pieces of art work celebrating their history, the fish market, the Museo de historian de Ensenada which was a former prison and now has archeological exhibits and history of the area. We enjoyed ceviche tostadas by the fish market. We also visited Kiki Hill and the Tara (Buddhist Goddess) which is by an abandoned fort which had a beautiful view of the city. Hope you enjoy the photos of the city and our tour today.
