February 17, 2026- Day #44

We are back at sea today. I hope you readers are enjoying these words and pics. Feedback is always appreciated. I have received some good comments and questions.

This is a good day for me to start to recuperate from this cold. I am skipping out on some of the lectures today, but did not want to miss the talk called “My 3 Favorite Inka Sites You Never Heard Of”. They are Tipon, Raqchi, and Huaytara. Most of these sites seem to be close to Cusco, we think we may have visited Tipon when we were in Peru a few years ago. The speaker had some compelling reasons to like these sights, including two godchildren at the one site.  They also are fantastic examples of the use of carved stone and continue to use some of the ceremonial sites even today.

This morning the ship is also having games at a Country Fair event at pool side. A lot of fun, but also hot. You won tickets for game participation but as usual, Joan and I were not prize winners.

This evening no show for us due to my ongoing cold, but had a nice dinner at Jacques, the French specialty restaurant, with a couple with homes in Washington State and Palm Springs.

Back to a land tour tomorrow and no need for tendering!
