I am writing about these two days together as they are sea days 2 and 3, and we still have another two days until we reach land. On this first day, I spent most of the morning completing taxes. All done and no surprises!
The afternoon lectures were about the History of the Hula and Project Azorian. Apparently Project Azorian was a CIA operation fronted by Howard Hughes. While they did get some of the submarine and six submariners recovered, they did not find all the secrets they had hoped to find (if you can believe what the CIA tells us).
This evening we had an invitation to have cocktails with a new friend in one of the biggest suites on the ship. Wow, it was almost as big and nice as our condominium in Des Moines. Dinner was at the French restaurant, Jacques. This evening’s show was by a comedian from Canada, Andrew Grose.
On Tuesday they started a new event to keep us entertained. We had 30 couples compete in the first ever Amazing Race around the Vista. Ten couples will move onto the semifinals tomorrow. There was an evening cocktail party for the Around the World Cruisers, that the scuttlebutt was that we would be hearing about some itinerary changes due to the Middle East issues. However after one hour of introductions and our cocktails, we had no further information, except that we would get more information in the next few weeks.
One picture of a sunset from our balcony that I was tightly holding onto my I-pad as the wind was really blowing.
